UCSU Panel

University of Cumbria Students’ Union (UCSU) has a panel of 27 elected representatives, representing different groups of the student body, I am the International Students Representative.

The UCSU Panel meets four times a year to discuss ideas and issues put forward by other students, and yesterday was our 3rd meeting this year. The panel meetings are generally divided between the different campuses as much as possible and yesterday the meeting was held in beautiful Ambleside. We talked about the UCSU’s mission and vision met with staff from career and employability and dealt with a student issue at the end of the meeting.

The panel is a great opportunity to be able to make a difference in students’ lives and connect with other students you otherwise wouldn’t have the chance to meet.

I am enjoying my role and apart from the meetings I am also working with the university’s international coordinator to help international students get the most out of their time at the University of Cumbria.

The Ambleside campus is gorgeous, even on a drizzly day.
